NFL Mock Draft 2014: Will Johnny Manziel be #1

The first day of the 2014 NFL Draft is on Thursday May 8th, which just happens to be my birthday.  Perhaps my Sports Prophet status will align the stars and my predictions will come true.  As many of you may know, I am not the biggest college football on the planet.  I derive my information from the little game tape I’ve seen of the top prospects, the words of wisdom by well known experts like Mel Kiper Jr. and my own personal belief of what each team needs and may do during the draft.

I see teams that would be willing to trade back like the Rams and Falcons to acquire more draft picks.  Possibly the Titans or Cardinals will move up in the draft to get the quarterback they covet.  At least 4 of the 5 teams with the first picks in the draft need quarterbacks.  They can certainly use that as leverage and make a sweet deal for a player or more picks.  Maybe even a 1st round pick in 2015.

With the knowledge that I have and by my best hypothesis, I give you The Sports Prophet’s NFL Mock Draft 1.0 for 2014.

1. Houston Texans – Jadeveon Clowny (DE) – Remember Mario Williams

I like your mock draft. Not sure about what player will go where but I agree with your position of need and who will make the trades. When’s mock 2.0? Haha.

Hahaha Mock 2.0 will probably come out in a few weeks. I’m with you on position of need. This is the direction I think these teams should be thinking about going. Thanks for the comment.
